Kenowa Courier – 6/4/19

Your Bulletin Editor had to miss yesterday’s meeting but our new President, Dawn Martinson, provided thorough notes allowing for production of this Courier. With the new Ambuc year (June to May) officially underway, we need someone to step forward as soon as possible to join the leadership team as Vice-President. The role is not difficult but important so please consider stepping forward.

In addition, we are looking to line up speakers for the upcoming year. Do you have a topic idea or know someone who would like to share with our club? If so, alert President Dawn. And don’t forget that we are always looking for new members. Invite a friend to a free lunch to learn more about what the Kenowa Ambucs do. Ellen Pelletier, intern for Katelyn Bush from Kentwood Parks and Rec and GVSU senior in Recreational Therapy, was a visitor to our club this week while Katelyn visits Alaska.

Memorial Day Race Runner Record!

518 runners began their Memorial Day celebration in Georgetown Township with the Ambucs 5K run. That is the highest number of runners ever for this event. Thanks are due to all the Kenowa Ambuc members who assisted at the race and parade. This event only happens because of the volunteering spirit of our club members who willingly sacrifice a part of their holiday and band together under the able direction of those who take on critical leadership roles. Tremendous grace, good spirit and cooperation was visible throughout the morning.

Thanks also to our sponsors and to the affiliate organizations that pitch in as well. The Sponsorship Recognition Lunch will be held in November. I will ask Kelli for a list of all those who participated in some way last week and publish those names in the next Courier. THANK YOU!
