Kenowa Courier – 3/19/19

Thanks to all those who came out today.  Our topic was the club’s annual Memorial Day 5K Race and Parade and Kelli walked us through preparations on both components.  On the race, we heard that the web link is live and we are taking early (discounted) applications through March 31. After that date, the full $30 registration applies.   A race shirt change was well-received by the group – this year we will be going with a “camo” pattern for adult racers that includes the Ambuc logo rather than the generic racer logo we have used for the past several years.  Our charity partners will still get color-specific shirts for their groups. Andrea reported that other details such as port-o-lets rentals, Family Fare arrangements, minor supplies via McDonald’s, coordination with the bank, etc. are in place.

Parade issues addressed included comped registrations for non-profit veteran’s group entries, use of flags/banners, provision of Ambuc information to WCET Public Access TV (which covers the parade) and some matters specific to one particular sponsor.

All members are encouraged to save time on Memorial Day morning (May 27) to lend a hand.  Family members are very welcome.

Batter Up

The club has gotten confirmation from the Grandville Little League of our 2019 sponsorship.  Our contribution will outfit a “Challenger” Division (children with disabilities) team, put an Ambuc logo on a fence banner and allow us to host an end of season picnic dinner for the group.  The 7-week season starts the first week of May. Play ball!

Little Slugger

Congratulations to Kenowa member and now 3-time grandparents Doug and Janna Postma who made a short trip to North Carolina this weekend to meet granddaughter Ryinn Joy Postma (8 pounds and 10 ounces) and welcome her to the family.
