Kenowa Courier – 1/5/16

The Official Newsletter of the Kenowa Chapter of AMBUCS – Chartered May 28, 1957. President: Mavis Byers – Vice-President: Dawn Martinson – Treasurer: Doug Levering Secretary: Andrea Spagnoulo – Sergeants: Rod Weersing and David Hodge

Today’s Meeting:

We started 2016 in a slightly different venue as heating problems at Sunnybrook forced us to relocate to the “Rush Creek Room” for our lunch today.  A planned appearance by our District Governor did not occur and so our group shared stories of our holidays.  If you weren’t there, here’s what you missed:  Marty traveled to Nashville where he got in 9 holes of golf; Scott lost a battle with ice and concrete resulting in minor injuries that make him look tough; Ken took advantage of the weather for a rare December bike ride; Doug P’s eldest son got engaged, Brad golfed on Christmas Day and his wife bought a motor home; Cherri and her husband (and their 10 year old twins) shared their first holidays with the 3 and 5 year old children that they became guardians of in September; Andrea stretched her creative muscles with a new adult coloring book; Rod took in the Star Wars movie with his family; Doug L and his wife did a Christmas Day hike at Ravines Park; Dan rented a boat on Christmas Day for his family to enjoy the Fort Lauderdale canals; Ron and his family attended a Pistons game, Drive game and the Star Wars movie and Dawn kept it low key setting some new year goals and working through a job transition.

50/50 Winner:   Scott Pastoor (2 in a row)

We Were All So Board

The Board took action following today’s meeting to approve the purchase ($500) of a wheelchair carrier to be mounted on a van for a 65 year old Jenison man with mobility issues.  We also received notice that our latest AmTryke was delivered to “Ellie”.
